’Skins defeat ’Cats

RICHMOND - The Indian Creek girls basketball picked up a 55-35 win at Edison Monday.

Trailing 15-14 after one quarter, the Redskins outscored the Wildcats 27-9 over the second and third quarters and cruised to the 20-point win.

Indian Creek's Bre Berryman led all scorers with 25 points. Bethany Davis contributed 16 points in support.

Molly McCoy led the Wildcats with 11 points. Lynsey Morrison added eight points.

Both teams take to the court again Thursday with the Redskins traveling to Bellaire and the Wildcats at Union Local.

Toronto tops East Richland

TORONTO - The Toronto girls basketball team rolled to a 54-22 victory over East Richland Christian Monday.

After outscoring the visitors 22-8 in the first quarter, Toronto shut them out in the second quarter to build a 32-8 lead at half and cruised from there.

The Red Knights were paced by Mykia West's 16-point performance. Lindsey Bodnar added 10 in support. Toronto hosts St. John Central Wednesday.

Oak Glen shuts down Beavers

CALCUTTA - The Oak Glen girls' basketball team limited Beaver Local to single digits in three of the four quarters of play Monday night en route to a 43-31 victory at the Beaver Dome.

With the win, the Golden Bears move back to .500 at 4-4. The loss drops the Beavers to 1-11.

Two players scored in double digits to lead the way for Oak Glen. Vanessa Hissam scored a game-high 14 points to lead the way,while Jessica Stivason netted 10 points.

Oak Glen hosts Brooke Thursday.

Crusaders fall to Bulldogs

BRIDGEPORT - The Steubenville Catholic Central girls basketball team lost 69-36 at Bridgeport Monday.

Miranda Parkinson led the Crusaders with eight points. Tori Knight, Rachel Irvin and Rachel Rigaud each added five.

Central (4-8) hosts Madonna Thursday.

BELLAIRE - The Jefferson County Christian School boys basketball team lost 50-28 at St. John Central Monday.

Matt Townsend led the Royals with 13 points. Wes Seabright chipped in nine points.
