Hancock County grand jury meets

NEW CUMBERLAND - The Hancock County grand jury, meeting last week in Hancock County Circuit Court, returned the following indictments:

Shane "Poodle" Wright, 27, of Newell. Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (marijuana); conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver controlled substances (marijuana and heroin).

Joseph Jolly, 26, of Newell. Conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver controlled substances (marijuana and heroin).

Daniel Cook, 48, of Weirton. Manufacture of a controlled substance (marijuana); possession of a controlled substance (marijuana); unlawful possession of a firearm - having been previously convicted of a felony offense.

Michael Keffer, 34, of Weirton. Child neglect resulting in bodily injury of a 6-year-old child of which he is the parent.

Earl H. McWhorter, 28, of Martins Ferry, Ohio. Grand larceny - unlawfully and feloniously taking, stealing and exercising control over jewelry of a value in excess of $1,000.

Chad Allen Hunt, 21, of Steubenville. Felon in possession of a firearm (Smith & Wesson 9mm) - having been previously convicted of a felony drug offense.

Joyce D. Taravella, 51, of Steubenville. Grand larceny - unlawfully and feloniously taking, stealing and exercising control over jewelry of a value in excess of $1,000.

W. Tyler Tunno, 25, of Weirton. Nighttime house burglary - unlawfully and feloniously breaking and entering a dwelling with intent to commit larceny and by taking, stealing and carrying away personal property, to wit: gold and diamond rings, other jewelry and medication.

Rhys Williams, 27, of Wintersville. Forgery and uttering (two counts) - feloniously forging the endorsement on personal checks from Hancock County Savings Bank in the amount of $87 and $50.

Eva Marie Lally, 32, of Georgetown, Pa.. Bringing stolen property into the state, to wit: an Armorlite AR-10T rifle of a value in excess of $1,000; transferring stolen property.

Derek R. Bragg, 22, of Newell. Delivery of a controlled substance (two counts), to wit: marijuana and cocaine.

Rameon J. Sumlin, 22, of East Liverpool. Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to deliver; transporting a controlled substance (cocaine) into the state; conspiracy to deliver cocaine; conspiracy to transport cocaine into the state.

Latoya L. Monteiro, 24, of East Liverpool. Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to deliver; transporting a controlled substance (cocaine) into the state; conspiracy to deliver cocaine.

Heather M. Reed, 28, of Chester. Entry of a building other than a dwelling (detached garage) with intent to steal, take and carry away personal property and by stealing a motorcycle and car speakers; conspiracy.

Christopher Woolmaker, 28, of Chester. Entry of a building other than a dwelling (detached garage) with intent to steal, take and carry away personal property and by stealing a motorcycle and car speakers; conspiracy.

Jason C. Hobbs, 35, of Chester. Domestic battery, third and subsequent offense - having been previously convicted of domestic battery in Hancock County in 2003 and in Monongalia County in 2000.

Richard W. Sewell Jr., 30, of Pittsburgh. Failure to pay child support "repeatedly and willfully."

James M. Knepper, 55, of East Liverpool. Failure to pay child support "repeatedly and willfully."

Shaun M. Roby, 27, of Mingo Junction. House burglary.

Joshua F. McManus, 37, of Lexington, S.C. Failure to pay child support (one misdemeanor count); failure to pay child support (two felony counts).

Edrina Williams, 40, of New Castle, Pa. Malicious assault - striking someone with a spike high heel - and battery (two counts).

Shaka S. Jeter, 24, of Weirton. Wanton endangerment involving a firearm - firing a gun three times in a public place - and prohibited person in possession of a firearm (.22-caliber revolver) having two previous convictions for nighttime burglary.

Brian L. Hollingsworth, 47, of Columbus. Driving under the influence of alcohol (second offense) and driving on a suspended/revoked license (DUI).

George M. Peveich, 40, of Wintersville. Driving under the influence of alcohol and fleeing while under the influence of alcohol.

Tyler J. Smith, 21, of Wintersville. Forgery or uttering (two counts) - unlawfully and feloniously forging the name of his brother on a DUI information sheet and fingerprint scan.
