STONE, Richard B., 86, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Jan. 9, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
A son of the late Thomas R. and Mary Josephine Foit Stone, he was born December 30, 1926, in Amsterdam, OH.
Richard was a member of the Hope Church in Amsterdam and the United Mine Workers Local 283.
He is survived by three sons: Richard R. (Janet) Stone of Amsterdam, David B. (Wendy) Stone of Amsterdam and Wesley A. (Anne) Stone of Loveland, OH; five grandchildren: Jessica, Ashley, Olivia, Ryan and Lauren; two great-grandchildren, Stone and Liam; two brothers, Tom Stone of Amsterdam and Frank Stone of Canton; two sisters, Mary Jane Stull of Amsterdam and Karen Tyson of Canton.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Twila Shockley, in 2008; daughter, Pamela Harper in 2011; and a sister, Eloise Amstutz of Louisville.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam. Burial will follow in Bergholz Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
