Lions host Oak Glen squad

NEW CUMBERLAND - The New Cumberland Lions Club hosted the Oak Glen High School girls volleyball team, the regular season, sectional, Ohio Valley Athletic Conference and 2012 West Virginia state champions, at their Jan. 22 meeting.

The secretary's and treasurer's reports were accepted as read.

Lion Bob Manypenny announced the paper drive will be held Feb. 2, weather permitting.

Lion Anna Raines will distribute dictionaries to New Manchester Elementary School third-graders at 1 p.m. Feb. 14.

The group agreed to donate excess Styrofoam cups purchased for the chili cook-off to West Virginia University's Energy Express program.

Environmental Chair Russ Flanigan and Lion Arland Lamp recently attended a cabinet meeting in Sistersville, since Zone Chair Brian Webster was unable to attend.
