Grief support program offered

WELLSBURG - New Day Christian Center, at 2640 Pleasant Ave., will be hosting GriefShare weekly video seminar featuring experts on recovering from grief at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday from Feb. 5 through April 30.

Everyone dealing with grief is welcome.

There will be a support group discussion led by Cheryl Kriebel, who has dealt with the death of her daughter, and Ron Rice, a local hospice chaplain.

Story hours to be held

WELLSBURG - The Follansbee Branch Library will hold story hours for children, ages 25, and their caregivers at noon Monday and Feb. 11, 18 and 25.

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library will be holding a "I Love Books" evening storytime with Kim Harless at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Group sought for festival parking

FOLLANSBEE - The Follansbee Community Days Committee seeks a nonprofit group to handle public parking during Follansbee Community Days, July 12-14.

The group will direct people parking at the youth football practice field near Jo-Jon's and collect a parking fee set by the city, which the group may keep.

The group will be selected through a drawing. Interested Follansbee organizations should submit their name, organization information and contact number in writing to the Follansbee City Building, P.O. Box 606, Follansbee, WV 26037 no later than 5 p.m. on April 1.

Library holding book discussion

WEIRTON - The Mary H. Weir Public Library will host a book discussion on "An Hour Before Daylight," by Jimmy Carter, a memoir of Carter's childhood in rural Depression-era Georgia, at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 at the library located on Main Street.

The book describes life in the share-cropping south before the Civil Rights movement. The monthly book discussions are designed to be flexible to accommodate busy schedules.

All are welcome to attend any session that interests them. There are no requirements, other than an interest in the book.

Spay/neuter clinic scheduled

WINTERSVILLE - The Brooke County Animal Welfare League will hold its next spay and neuter clinic, Roaming Animal Sterilization Clinic at Low-Cost, on March 2-3 at the Jefferson County Airpark.

Immediate pre-payment is required. There will be no walk-in services or vaccinations available.

Appointments are not limited to Brooke County residents.
