Toronto High School students planning fundraiser auction

February 13, 2013
Weirton Daily Times

The Toronto High School Close Up students are organizing a Chinese auction on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. at Karaffa Elementary School to raise money for their trip to Washington, D.C., in March.

There are 14 students going, and each needs to raise $1,500 for the week-long trip.

The fundraiser will include a soup and sandwich luncheon with opportunities to buy tickets and bid on the entries. There will be more than 20 different baskets, various gift certificates from area locations, overnight stays from local hotels, gift buckets, homemade afghans, various services and a varsity lettermen jacket in the winner's choice of school colors, donated by NC Sportz.

There are more than 75 entries in the auction.
