Water outage

WELLSBURG - Wellsburg water customers will be without water from about 11 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday while crews repair a valve at the intersection of 12th and Charles streets.
Crews will be repairing an old valve that broke on Jan. 27, leading to an outage then.
The outage will affect all customers, including suburban and Washington Pike residents. It will be followed by by a 48-hour boil order in effect until a water sample has been tested.
Residents may experience water discoloration and should refrain from doing laundry. For information, call (304) 737-2143.
Absentee ballots
available
FOLLANSBEE - Applications for mail-in absentee ballots for Follansbee's primary election set for April 2 are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the City Building, 872 Main St.
The City Building will be closed Monday for Presidents Day.
The deadline for voter registration is March 19 at the Brooke County Courthouse. Ballots will be mailed beginning Wednesday.

ESC announces
special board meeting
STEUBENVILLE - The Jefferson County Educational Service Center Governing Board will meet for a special meeting at 10:30 a.m. Monday. ESC Treasurer Don Donahue said the board will meet in executive session to discuss personnel.
Health department sets nursing activities
STEUBENVILLE - The Jefferson County Health Department will offer immunizations, flu shots and TB testing from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at their offices on Market Street.
Physicals will be offered at the health department on Wednesday. An appointment is necessary. Information about the county health department services is available by calling (640) 283-8530.
The county health department will be closed Monday for Presidents Day.
Buckeye Local policy, information available
RAYLAND - Officials in the Buckeye Local School District will provide an overview of the Title I Parent Involvement policies and the school-parent compacts at the junior high and elementary schools. Title I is part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
The 2013-14 parent involvement policy and school-parent compacts will be reviewed, and parents' comments and recommendations will be accepted, officials said. The meetings are as follows:
Buckeye Local Junior High: 2:30 p.m., Wednesday.
South Elementary: 4 p.m., Wednesday.
North Elementary: 4 p.m., Feb. 21.
West Elementary: 4 p.m., Feb. 22.

Indian Creek Council to meet
WINTERSVILLE - The Indian Creek Curriculum Improvement Council/District Leadership Team is to meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the gymnasium at the Bantam Ridge board offices.
The meeting is open to the public.
Discussions concerning curricular issues make up the monthly agenda items.
