Hearing to examine DEP
accountability in testing
WASHINGTON, Pa. - Pennsylvania House Democratic Policy Chair Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, will co-chair a public hearing on the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's accountability standards for environmental testing following natural gas drilling from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. today at the Courthouse Square located at 100 W. Beau St.
Rep. Jesse White, D-Cecil Township, requested the hearing and will serve as co-chair. White recently introduced House Bill 268, which would require the DEP to disclose full testing results, including raw data and documentation, of any environmental testing the agency conducts on landowner or leaseholder property.
The hearing is open to the public.
Class of 1951 to meet
WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1951 will meet at noon Thursday at Dee-Jay's BBQ Ribs and Grill located on Three Springs Drive.

Auxiliary to host craft show
HOOKSTOWN, Pa. - The Hookstown American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will host its spring craft show and sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23-24.

health class
WEIRTON - KidneySmart classes will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 28 at the Mary H. Weir Public Library located at 3442 Main St.
The classes are free, community-based education about kidney function, early signs of kidney disease, diet and health management and treatment options for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.

to meet
COLLIERS - Country Friends will host Art Beal and The Country Tradition Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Road. The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance starts at 7 p.m.
