Margaret Hanlon

HANLON, Margaret, age 84, of Wellsville, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 25, 2013.

Margaret was born October 24, 1928 in Toronto, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Mary Krisko Mihalek.

She retired as a cook in the Wellsville School District in 1999 and was previously employed at Weirton Steel, Ninth Street Pottery in Wellsville and Kmart. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Hanlon in May of 2012 and a son, Donald Glen Hanlon in September of 1962. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Martin, John and Rudy Mihalek; and four sisters, Mary Dennis, Cecilia Eshbaugh, Frances Spicer, and Dorothy Carter.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Victoria Cianni and her husband, John of Wellsville; two step-daughters, Elizabeth Grimm, of Lisbon and Barbara Cornell and her husband, Jim of East Liverpool.

Margaret has two grandsons, William and Anthony Cianni, both of Boardman, OH and five step- grandchildren, Michael R. Beatty, of Lisbon, Michelle R. Parsons and her husband Rick of Titusville, FL, Jackie E. Grimm and his wife, Barbie, of Goochland, VA, James M. Cornell of Grants, NM, and Christina D. Cornell of Fairbanks, AK.

Margaret had 10 step- great-grandchildren, Jimmie, Kaitlin, Kameron, Ryan, Brooke, Britney, Alyssa, Christa, Breana, and Casey. She has one surviving sister, Barbara Ann Kwiatkoski of Martinsburg, WV plus numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow, March 1, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, OH with Fr. Thomas Vennitti as Celebrant.

Burial will follow in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Wellsville.

There is no public visitation planned.

The Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
