SPANGLER, Ruth E., 99, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the Laurels of Steubenville.
She was born August 14, 1913 in Canonsburg, PA, a daughter of the late Charles and Edna (McGaffic) Flick.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis J. Spangler; a daughter, Corinne L. Falls; two sisters, Lois Flick and Florence Priest; and a half brother, Leroy Huff.
Ruth was a retired dispatcher at Ferro Alloy and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Brilliant United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Michael (Pam) Falls of Steubenville, Ohio and Catherine (Kevin) Kay of Hilliard, Ohio; five great-grand children, Jonathan (Ashley) Kay, Meghan Kay, Shannon Kay, Brian Falls and Lucy Falls; a great-great- granddaughter, Elizabeth Kay; a half-sister, Dorothy Bushno of Apache Junction, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where her funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Carson, officiating.
Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, Ohio.
