William A. ‘Bill’ Klein

KLEIN, William A. ''Bill", 84, Steubenville, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Mt. Carmel Hospital East in Columbus.

He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Roy and Agnes Ward Klein. Bill was a 1946 graduate of Steubenville High School and a graduate of the College of Steubenville. Bill was a proud American and U.S. Army veteran who served his country in Korea. Bill loved Steubenville and was as a member of Steubenville City Council for 10 years serving as 5th Ward City Councilman. Bill was a proud and life-long booster of his beloved Steubenville ''Big Red" and will be fondly remembered by many friends as "Buckeye Bill". Bill retired from Weirton Steel Company after serving 36 years in the accounting department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Shirley, his brother Lee Klein and brother Ward Klein. Bill is survived by four sons; Curt (Sharon) Klein of Steubenville, Cary Klein of Lancaster, OH, Craig (Cynthia) Klein of Delaware, OH and Kevin (Rina) Klein of Myrtle Beach SC. Bill also leaves three grandchildren including Kelli Klein Banfield (Todd), Kacey Klein Moore (Steve) and Nathan Klein. Bill's great-grandchildren are Lydia Moore and Ty Banfield.

Friends may be received Monday 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr, Thomas Nau, celebrant. Internment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville. There will be vigil service 7:30 p.m. Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the Steubenville City Schools Foundation.
