WEIRTON - Tickets are selling quickly for this year's Taste of Home Cooking School, scheduled for April 2 at the Serbian-American Cultural Center.
The event, hosted by the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times will feature Taste of Home culinary specialist Michael Barna.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show featuring 10 dishes prepared on stage by Barna begins at 7 p.m.

The Taste of Home Cooking School is sponsored in cooperation with Weirton Medical Center, Create-A-Room and Hancock County Savings Bank. M&M Hardware and Frank of Jerry's Furniture and Appliances also are sponsors. Kelli McCoy of LEX Multimedia will serve as mistress of ceremonies.
Tickets start at $10 for general admission, $20 for preferred seating and $45 for VIP tickets.
VIP ticket holders may attend a special meet-and-greet reception with Barna, including refreshments, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the cultural center's Tesla's Lounge; receive a free autographed copy of "Taste of Home Best Loved Recipes;" and have reserved seating in the front of the auditorium. Only 50 VIP tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Preferred seating is limited, with those ticketholders seated immediately behind the VIP ticketholders.
All those attending will receive a goody bag, including Taste of Home magazines, coupons and samples.
Tickets are available for purchase at the newspapers' office at 401 Herald Square in Steubenville; the Weirton Shop 'n Save; and M&M Hardware on Sunset Boulevard in Steubenville.
Also for sale are tickets for a chance to win a choice of a Hyde Park six-piece dining set or a Weber Genesis E-3-10 gas grill provided by M&M Hardware. Tickets, available at the newspaper office and M&M Hardware, are $5 each or three for $10. The winner will be selected during the cooking school. A variety of door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.

Gallo Wines, which is a national sponsor, also will have a booth at the show.
