WELLSBURG - The Brooke softball team dropped a pair to John Marshall, 4-2 and 9-1, Monday at the Brooke Athletic Complex.
Michaela Hinerman connected for five of the Bruins six hits in the doubleheader. She had a pair of singles, a triple and an RBI in Game 1 before adding a single and a double in Game 2. Kristen Reardon had an RBI double in Game 2 as well.
Brooke (5-5) travels to University today.

Huskies top Big Reds
BELLAIRE - Harrison Central loaded the bases on a walk, error and intentional walk and Jess Custer cleared them with a triple as the Huskies scored four times in the top of the eighth inning for a 7-3 victory over host Bellaire on Monday.
Harrison Central moves to 10-1 and will visit Wheeling Park today.
Kiley Staley added two doubles and an RBI for the winners, while Kara Dunfee had a double and RBI.
Katie Ellzy fanned nine, walked two and allowed a 2-run homer to Mackenzie Conroy in the first inning.

Wildcats nip Panthers
RAYLAND - The Edison softball team came from behind Monday to earn a 3-2 victory over host Buckeye Local in eight innings.
The Wildcats' Cassidy Jarvis collected a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth after a walk, hit by pitch and groundout.
The Panthers' Ivy Starcher struck out 13, walked four and allowed two singles in being handed the loss. Buckeye Local committed three errors. Aliyah Marelli delivered a two-RBI double in the bottom of the second inning.
Mikayla Tice captured the win, fanning nine and walking eight.
Both teams play Wednesday. Edison (4-4) hosts St. Clairsville and Buckeye Local (4-3) welcomes Harrison Central.

Redskins rout Ferry
MINGO JUNCTION - Alex Young set a school record with his 10th career triple and Dustin Rath did it on the mound and at the plate as the Indian Creek baseball team earned a 10-0 five-inning victory over visiting Martins Ferry Monday at Muth Field.
Rath walked two and allowed three singles as the Redskins moved to 4-3, winning their third straight. He also singled two and drive in a pair.
Jimmy Bolyog drove in a game-high four runs with his two singles. Tanner Wise added two singles and two RBIs, Cole Yeater a double and RBI and Sean Smith a single and RBI.
Indian Creek hosts Weir today at 5:30 p.m.

MORGANTOWN - The Brooke baseball team lost 12-1 to Morgantown in six innings.
Russell Schwertfeger hit a solo home run and Chad Harper had a double for the Bruins.

Edison holds off Buckeye
RAYLAND - The Edison baseball team held off Buckeye Local for a 9-6 victory Monday.
The Panthers rallied with three runs in the seventh before Ryan Kramarich shut the door in relief to seal the win.
Alec Jones earned the win on the mound for the Wildcats and helped his own cause with an RBI single. Nolan Marcus and Austin Horan each had a single and a double with Marcus scoring four runs and Horan crossing home three times.
The Panthers, who committed seven fielding errors, were led at the plate by Jonathan Borkoski (two doubles, a single and two RBIs) and Austin Marshall (triple and two RBIs).
Both teams take to the diamond Wednesday with Edison (6-0) heading to Bellaire and Buckeye Local (4-5) hosting Harrison Central.

BELLAIRE - The Harrison Central baseball team rolled 11-0 over Bellaire in six innings.
Rashaen Mitchell picked up the win, striking out 11 Big Reds and giving up just two hits. Nick Pelegreem had a home run, single, and drove in five runs.
Nick Staten had a double and an RBI, Ryan Rose a single and two RBIs, Dalton Rutter three singles and Rhett Kuryn a single and two RBIs.
Harrison Central travels to Buckeye Local Wednesday.
