Museum in Wayne
The museum at the Wayne Township Community Center - the old school in Unionport - is now open on the third Sunday of each month from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors are invited to stop in and see nostalgia of Unionport and surrounding areas.
Help with alumni
The Steubenville High School Alumni Association will be mailing out letters of invitation to the all-class reunion to be held Oct. 11-13.
Volunteers are needed to help with the mailing on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at East Elementary School on North Fifth Street, Steubenville.
Upcoming programs offered through the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County include the following:
Author Robin Yocum will discuss and sign copies of his books "The Essay: A Novel" and "Favorite Sons" at the Brilliant branch on Tuesday at 6 p.m. They can be purchased at the library the evening of the program.
Gaming night for teens will be at the Schiappa branch on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Xbox360, PS3, Wii and other games will be available. Registration is not needed.
A family movie will be shown at the Schiappa branch on April 26 at 4 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. Register by calling the library at (740) 264-6166. A movie also will be shown at the Brilliant branch on April 27 at noon.
Coffee, doughnuts and a movie will be offered at the Tiltonsville branch on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and at the Brilliant branch on April 26 at 10 a.m.
Cookbook club for the Tiltonsville branch will meet on April 25 at 6 p.m. Participants make a dish from selected books to share with the group. Register by calling (740) 859-5163.
Letter-learning toys offered at Play and Learn the Alphabet at the main library on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and at the Schiappa branch on April 25 at 6 p.m. and April 26 at 10 a.m. It is for parent and child ages 2-6.
Caregivers and child ages birth to 2 can attend Babygarten at the Toronto branch on April 25 at 11 a.m. and at the Adena branch on April 25 at 11:15 a.m.
Story Hour will be at the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant branch on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Stories, craft, songs and more are shared with caregiver and child ages 2-6.
A new book club being offered is a Youth Book Club (ages 15-30) at the Schiappa branch on April 25 at 6 p.m. Participants will meet the last Thursday of every month. Register by calling (740) 264-6166.
WHS Class of '83
The Wintersville High School Class of 1983 is continuing plans for its 30-year reunion on June 15 with the search on for current e-mail and mailing addresses for numerous classmates.

There were 16 members and one guest present for the April meeting of the Woodland Garden Club in Wintersville where Susan Guskea offered the inspirational message.
Susan Tatar and Elaine Wukelic were hostesses. Roll call was answered by naming a flower that begins with the letter "B."
Communications included an invitation to the Flushing Garden Club open meeting. Several members attended the Four Seasons Garden Club open meeting held in Cadiz where the program featured fairy gardens.
Plans to attend the regional meeting in Hopedale on Saturday were discussed. The club is in charge of name tags, a door prize and a drawing item.
The May 2 meeting will be a visit to garden centers in Columbiana. Members are to meet at 10 a.m. that day at Shorac Family Center in Wintersville to carpool.
Betty Clark offered the garden tip highlighting April tasks for pruning, deadheading and adding compost to the garden.
Carole Patton presented the program entitled "To Bee or Not to Bee," sharing information about the nature of bees, beginning beekeeping and the benefits of bees in pollination and the healthy benefits of eating honey. Members sampled local honey.
Band to play at
Country Friends will host the Stone Street Station band on Saturday at the Memorial Hall located on Old Police Lodge Road in Colliers.
Country Friends has events each Monday, Friday and Saturday at the hall.
The doors open at 6 p.m. each Saturday, and the dance starts at 7 p.m. On Mondy and Friday, doors open at 4 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m. Participants can bring a covered dish for the meal that begins at 5 p.m.
