MOSSGROVE, Donald R., 65, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 11:15 p.m., at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio, following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 16, 1948, at Wellsburg, WV, he was a son of the late Ray and Julia Mossgrove.
He moved to East Liverpool in 1992 from Weirton, WV, where he had worked for 34 years in marketing and retired in 2004 from the former Weirton Steel Company.
His wife of 23 years, Cindy Mossgrove, whom he married Dec. 9, 1989, survives at home. He also leaves behind one daughter, Jennifer Mossgrove, PhD. of Palmyra, NJ; and one grandson, Laz Mossgrove of Palmyra.
In addition he also leaves behind one brother, Ken Mossgrove and his wife, Susan of Butler, PA; two nephews, John and Stuart Mossgrove; a grand nephew, Jackson Mossgrove; his mother-in-law, Rose Logan; his loyal companion, his dog, Cash; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Don enjoyed photography, finance, traveling, as well as hiking and biking in the Hocking Hills near Athens, Ohio.
Friends may visit the family today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. The Rev. Dr. Mark Dunn of the 1st Evangelical Presbyterian Church will officiate a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Hammondsville, Ohio.
Family and friends will gather immediately after the service at the Dawson Family Center.
The family requests contributions be made to Don's favorite charity, the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Tennessee.
