MONTGOMERY, Ava Vievia, age 75, of Toronto, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Lifeline Hospital, Wintersville.
Born Nov. 7, 1937, in Monroe County, Ohio; she is a daughter of the late Leroy M. and Lydia May Ellen (Mercer) Hartman.
Ava is retired from the Holiday Inn in Steubenville, where she worked as a maid.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, June Mossor and Ellenor Mineat; two brothers, Charles and Albert Hartman; a grandson Thomas Earl Montgomery; and a great-granddaughter Patience Rose Neeley.
Ava is survived by her husband of 57 years, William G. Montgomery Sr. of Toronto whom she married February 18, 1956; a daughter, Mrs. Debra Payne and her husband, Robert; three sons, William G. Montgomery Jr. and his wife, Tracey, Michael Montgomery and his wife, Paula, and Ronald Montgomery and his wife, Deeana, all of Toronto; a foster son, Rick Black; nine grandchildren, Kim, Katrina, Angie, Michael, Bobbi, Desi, Ronnie, Okey (Paul), Alisia; nine great-grandchildren, Savanna, Cassidy, Peyton, Adam, Mariah, Nevaeh, Lily, Carmen, and Anne.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, Ohio 43964. 740-537-1234/85-847-1240
A celebration service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the family officiating the services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
