Baked steak dinner planned

There will be a baked steak dinner at Hill Top Fellowship Hall located at the intersection of county Road 46 and state Route 213, Toronto, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad bar, home-made pies, and hot and cold beverages. Eat-in and takeout will be available with donations accepted.

Weirton church holding revival

The Morning Star Baptist Church will hold a spring revival at 7 p.m. nightly Wednesday through Friday at the church located at 3124 Weir Ave., Weirton.

The Rev. Brandon A.A.J. Davis, pastor of Waymen A.M.E. Church of Wheeling will speak each night, and the programs will consist of area choirs.

St. Agnes CWC meets

Joanne Raha presided for the April meeting of the St. Agnes Catholic Woman's Club held at Scaffidi's in Steubenville.

The Rev. James Dunfee gave the opening and closing prayer. Raha thanked members for their work and donations for the card party.

Discussion was held on the SDCCW Convention that will be held on June 4-5. This year, the women of the diocese are asked to give Bishop Jeffrey Monforton a gift of prayer in the form of a spiritual bouquet. The women are asked to offer a rosary, a Mass or a Holy Hour for Bishop's Intentions.

Discussion also was held on the National Council of Catholic Women, the changes to the bylaws and the Madonna Plan.

The club's adopted seminarians are Nicholas Ginnetti and Mathew Gossett.

The spring banquet was held May 7 in the parish hall. Guests at the meeting were Paula Robson and Denise Galownia. Angel figurines and prayer card favors were given to members.

Word of Life to present drama

Word of Life Christian Church in Steubenville will present "Mother of the Nile," a drama about Lillian Thrasher, a Christian missionary and founder of the first orphanage in Egypt.

She is famed as the "Nile Mother" of Egypt, a young woman who exemplifies the essence of motherhood. The special presentation at 10:30 a.m. is free and open to the public. Nursery services are provided, and the building is barrier free. A free gift will be given to all mothers attending. For information, call the church at (740) 264-1227.
