New Cumberland residents have an opportunity to select some of those who will be leading their community on Tuesday, and we encourage residents to go out and vote.
Tuesday's municipal election will allow New Cumberland residents to choose between three individuals - incumbent Richard Blackwell, Linda McNeil and Pat Jones - for the office of mayor.
In addition, Brian Webster and Melissa Perkins are facing off for the Ward 1, Seat C position on New Cumberland's city council.
All other positions are either not up for election this time around, or the candidates are unopposed.
The exception is the Ward 2, Seat B council seat, which has no candidate filed. That seat will have to be filled by mayoral appointment at a later date.
Each candidate brings something different to the table, and it is up to the residents to determine what they feel the community needs the most and which candidate can fill those needs.
That is why it is important for every eligible voter in the community to take the time to step into that ballot station on Tuesday and make their selection.
You determine the future of your community by your choice.
Voting is set to take place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the New Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department.
