Follansbee Pharmacy to host

heart and blood pressure class

FOLLANSBEE - A Follansbee Pharmacy pharmacist will hold a healthy heart and blood pressure class at noon Wednesday at the Brooke Senior Center located on Main Street.

Salvation Army holding distribution

WEIRTON - The Salvation Army will distribute food from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or while supplies last, Thursday at the army's fellowship hall located at 796 Cove Road.

It is open to Hancock and Brooke county residents. Those participating must bring a state-issued photo identification, a rent or utility receipt in their name and a box.

The Mountaineer Food Bank provided a grant for the distribution.

Multiple Sclerosis group meeting

WEIRTON - The Weirton/Steubenville Multiple Sclerosis Support group will hold a meeting at 76 p.m. Thursday at the Serbian American Cultural Center located on Colliers Road.

Margie O'Leary, a nurse working with Multiple Sclerosis patients at UPMC, will discuss new medications recently approved for MS patients.

Force holding registrations

WEIRTON - The Force Soccer Club is holding registration for the 2013-2014 travel soccer season with try-outs scheduled for 3 p.m. June 8 at the J.C. Williams Soccer Complex on Colliers Way.

All those trying out must be registered prior to the try-out, and registration assistance will be available, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Teams accepting application include boys under-10, boys under-12, boys under-13, boys under-14, girls under-12 and girls under 12.

Moose hosting hypnosis show

WEIRTON - Weirton Moose Lodge 688 will host "The Jason Christopher Comedy Hypnosis Show" at 8 p.m. June 28.

Christopher is a graduate of The Stage Hypnosis Center in Litchfield Park, Ariz. He has toured the East Coast, including Orlando, Fla., and Atlantic City, N.J.

No one is hypnotized against their will nor is the humor at the expense of audience members.
