Remembering veterans

May 14, 2013
Weirton Daily Times
At Easter, the Hooverson Heights Primary School K-Kids sent to residents of the West Virginia Veterans Home in Barboursville crosses they made from sticks and covered with red, white and blue duct tape, a project suggested by member Caleb Ritchie, third from left in the front row. At its weekly meetings, the group votes on its various community service projects, which include collecting materials for the Brooke County Animal Shelter. Comprised of third- and fourth-graders, the club is affiliated with the Wellsburg Kiwanis Club and advised by Suzanne Davidson, a teacher at the school; and Janice Smith, their liaison with the Kiwanis club. -- Contributed
