According to police reports, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the two men's home after Rosales called 911 to report Hoffman was standing over him with a knife.

Sheriff's deputies said when they arrived, they found Rosales sitting in a stairway inside and bleeding heavily and Hoffman sitting in the living room, where they arrested him.
