STEUBENVILLE -- City Council formally adopted legislation Tuesday night to accept the resignation of former City Manager Cathy Davison and pay her $41,097.71 in a final severance package.
Davison submitted her resignation to the council last week following 38 months on the job and five days of uncertainty regarding her job status.
In other business the council tabled agreements with the LaBelle Neighbors Who Care and Community for Youth Development pending a meeting between city officials and representatives of the two organizations.
The Bishop John King Mussio Elementary School was recognized during the council meeting for finishing first in Ohio and fourth in the nation during a recent online math competition.
The council passed emergency legislation for the demolition of the house at 243 N. Eighth St.
Also approved as an emergency was an ordinance to advertise for bids for an asbestos abatement project at the Grand Theater.
The council heard a first reading for an ordinance rezoning the former synagogue on Lovers Lane that is being converted into a senior citizen center by Tri-State Health Services.
