RECOGNIZED: Century 21 Greathouse Realty recognized Joann Shorac as one of the system's top-producers nationwide, awarding her the emerald level Century 21 Masters Award.

Emerald level status is awarded to an agent who has met minimum sales production of 37 closed transaction sides within a calendar year. A gold-plated lapel pin with emerald accent is awarded to the agent during the awards ceremony, along with a trophy and a personal invitation to attend a Century 21 Top Agent Retreat.

"Joann places her real estate wisdom and passion for life into her everyday business, helping to make clients more comfortable with the real estate transaction as they make what may be the most significant purchase of their lives," said Bill Greathouse, broker/owner of Century 21 Greathouse Realty. "Joann is a valued and trusted real estate resource for the Hancock/Brooke county community and a major contributor to the overall success" of the company.

Shorac has more than 37 years of experience in the real estate industry and has been a multi-million dollar producer for 10 of those years, and a million dollar producer prior to that. She's served on the Board of Realtors for the Weirton area.

Rick Davidson, president and CEO of the Century 21 system, said the award recognizes Shorac's "superior performance and dedication to the Century 21 system."

RAISING FUNDS: Modern Woodmen throughout the area have staged several fundraisers recently to help community groups.

Benefiting were:

- Mount Pleasant Baseball, $1,000 for equipment, courtesy of the Steubenville Modern Woodmen Chapter.

- Purple Circle 4-H, $2,950, also courtesy of the St. Clairsville Chapter.

Club members staged a spaghetti dinner for the 4-H group and held a drawing for the baseball association.

The fundraising totals include contributions from the Modern Woodmen Matching Fund program, which allows chapters to support a community cause, organization or individual in need by staging fundraisers. The organization then matches up to $2,500 of the amount raised.

Nationwide, the group contributes more than $6.5 million to community causes each year.
