WEIRTON - The Hancock Federation of Democratic Women held their May 14 meeting at Giovanni's Family Restaurant with President Marilyn Boyd calling the meeting to order and leading the Pledge to the Flag.
The meeting was informational because there weren't enough members in attendance to take action.
Silent attendance was taken, and the minutes weren't available. The club had four membership and one associate member renewal.
Boyd informed those in attendance she spoke with State President Sue Hubbard about the club's inability to reach a quorum for meetings. Boyd was advised the members in attendance and voting could be a quorum. The group will further discuss and have a reading on this at the next monthly meeting on June 17.
Members discussed holding a fundraiser with the possibility of having a booth at the Brick Yard Festival.
Treasurer Cindy Jones said the club should send its dues to the state organization by Aug. 15. Members also discussed putting an ad in the state directory.
The meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. June 17 at Giovanni's.
Any Democratic women in Hancock County are invited to attend or joining the club.
