Weir High School Class of '57

will hold monthly social

WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1957 will hold their monthly social at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Three Springs Drive Eat'n Park.

All classmates, spouses and friends are welcome.

Country Friends host Eldurays

COLLIERS - The Country Friends will host the The Eldurays Saturday at Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road.

The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance begins at 7 p.m.

Rabies clinic announced

WEIRTON - The Hancock County Dog Warden will hold the annual rabies clinic from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 15 at the Weirton City Building parking lot located on Cove Road.

Dogs must be on a leash, and cats must be in a pet carrier.

West Virginia law requires dogs six months and older be licensed and vaccinated against rabies. Failure to properly vaccinate a dog or cat against rabies can result in a fine up to $50 per animal, and failure to license a dog can result in a fine up to $100, in addition to court fees.

The cost is $6 for a rabies shot, $3 for a license, $10 for a kennel license and $10 for a vicious dog license. The clinic is sponsored by the Hancock County Commissioners, county dog warden, Hancock County Assessor's Office, Hilltop Animal Hospital and Hancock County Animal Shelter.

Library holding blood drive

MCDONALD, Pa. - The Heritage Public Library will hold a Central Blood Bank drive and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 20 at the library located at 52 Fourth St.

Community yard sale announced

PARIS, Pa. - Devil's Den Road residents will hold their annual miles-long community yard sales, beginning at 9 a.m. June 21-22.

June 23 is the rain date.

The event will include "buy one, get one" deals, desserts and refreshments, housewares, furniture, toys, baby items and toys.

Fair needs crafters

WEIRTON - The St. Thomas Episcopal Church will hold their 50th annual Peach Festival Aug. 10 at the church located at Three Springs and St. Thomas drives. Crafters are needed. Those interested may contact the church at (304) 723-4120; leave a message if no one is available.
