WEIRTON - Moving On, a group of widows and widowers, met June 9 for their luncheon and meeting at Undo's with President Norma Boni presiding.
Fred Vogt gave the blessing; Eleanor Cooper read a poem about "the ragged old flag" in regards to Flag Day; and Christine Brown gave a reading on "living life" to appreciate the little things in life.
June birthdays were acknowledged.
Newest members to join were Jeannette Spear, Barbara Mayers and Darlene Roe.
Guests attending were Dorothy Alrutz, Madeline Sperry, Janet Kaldaugh, John Knight and Anita Spadafore.
Entertainment was provided by the Thermes Women, who sang religious and patriotic songs.
Tables were decorated with bears with a flag on plates and candies donated by Eleanor Cooper, Bonnie James and Nancy Martino.
Madeline Michael Boulson and Lucretia "Toots" Ross conducted the 50/50 drawing won by Norma Jean Boni. Undo gift certificates went to Jack Davis and Helen Parrish.
A massage from Schrickel Health and Wellness Center went to Katy Rosohac; and a calculator to Julie Coughlin. Table prizes were won by Davis, Cecelia Arrico, Cindy Gilbert, Christine Brown, Janet Gillham and Coughlin.
Carol Zagula discussed day trips and suggestions for the organization.
Ross gave the secretarial report and Margaret Chapman's treasurer's report.
The next meeting will be held July 14 at Undo's. The cost is $12 for dinner and $10 for dues.
