Annual July 4 breakfast
at Bloomingdale UMC
The New Beginners Circle of the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church will hold its annual July 4 breakfast on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Cost is by donation.
The church is located at 113 High St., Bloomingdale.
Joint service Sunday at St. Thomas Episcopal
St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located at Three Springs Drive, Weirton, is hosting a joint worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday.
The joint service consists of churches of Olde St. Johns Colliers and Christ Church Wellsburg. Organist Chris Simmons will play special church hymns and patriotic music in celebrating July 4. The service is open to the public.
at Brilliant UMC
Brilliant United Methodist Methodist Church, located at 525 Labelle St., Brilliant, will host its Strawberry Festival from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on July 14.
The menu will include chicken sandwiches, sloppy joes and hot dogs, pasta salad and potato salad and strawberries and ice cream.
In addition to food and fellowship, the event also will include entertainment provided by Ron Retzer from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
First Baptist plans
free dinner on July 7
As part of the First Baptist Church of Steubenville's efforts for community outreach, the public is invited to attend its weekly Sunday services at 11:30 a.m.
As part of the outreach, a free monthly dinner open to the public is held on the first Sunday of the every month, beginning at 1 p.m.
Weather permitting, the next dinner on July 7 at 1 p.m. will be held at the church's adopted Pleasant Heights Park shelter, weather permitting. It will be a barbecue.
The Arbor schedules
sale to benefit programs
The Arbor located at 208 South Chester St, just one block south of the traffic light in New Cumberland, will host a two-day "giant sale" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Free parking is available.
Items offered for sale will include gently used children's and adult clothing, household items, and baby and toddler gear. Hot dogs, sloppy joes, desserts and coffee and iced tea will be available.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Arbor's community outreach after-school programs.

Annual camp meeting
scheduled July 11-21
The Tri-State Free Methodist Campground will host the 91st -annual camp meeting July 11-21 at the grounds located at 1027 Anderson Blvd., East Liverpool.
The Rev. Jake Huffman from Villa Heights Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va., is this year's evangelist. Huffman began his ministry as a missionary in Africa where he coached basketball at the University of Zambia for two years.
During Family Camp 2013, Huffman will speak on a series of messages taken from Daniel, "Prophecy: Living a Holy Life in a Corrupted World."
"It's time for the church to rediscover this prophetic message in a culture that is slipping further away from the truth," said Huffman.
Evening services begin at 7 p.m. and parking is available on the grounds. Casual, but respectful, dress is appropriate.
Since its inception, people from many different faiths and backgrounds have attended and are welcome. The event draws families primarily from Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, but people attend from as far away as New York, Florida and the New England area.
