Patricia Herring, right, of the Steuben Striders Track Club of Steubenville has been honored for her dedication to helping area youths excel in track and field. Herring has helped run the Striders’ team for 40 years. Pegasus Track Club president Alma Claypool made the presentation during a meet in East Liverpool. The Striders will hold their annual July 4 track meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Harding Track and Field Complex. Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. The cost is $10 per child ages 5-18 for three events and $1 for an additional event. The annual Bob Young Memorial Mile, named for the Striders’ founder, will be held for an additional $1. Trophies will be awarded to the top boys and girls winner at 14-and-under and 15-and-older.
