WEIRTON - Williams County Club is going to auction off a 3.45 acre parcel next to Marland Heights Park later this month.
Treasurer Jon Rogers told Weirton Planning Commission members Wednesday the auction is tentatively slated for July 22.
"We have some property we're going to auction off for development purposes," he said after the meeting. "It could be (used for) a single family unit or it could be multiple units, that's going to be up to the buyer."

The Planning Commission signed off on the proposed subdivision, but with a caveat: the buyer, whoever that is, must be told up front that they'll be expected to obtain all necessary easements and rights-of-way and also designate a proper access road.
"Whoever buys it will end up coming back here" to get approvals, Rogers said.
Public Utilities Director A.D. "Butch" Mastrantoni said it's important the buyer knows what will be expected of him or her before purchasing the property.
"I want to be clear, I would prefer to have the easements (in place)," he said. "But I understand their desire to identify a buyer and have a purpose before spending the money" needed to address the easements and rights-of-way.
"I want (the buyer) to understand the limitations and what they'll be facing if they pursue this," Mastrantoni said.
