WEIRTON - A boil order is in effect in the area of North 11th Street in Weirton following a line break Saturday afternoon.
According to information released by the Weirton Area Water Board, the boil order is in effect for North 11th Street and the 200 block of Franklin Street in the city. The boil order will remain in effect for a minimum of 24 hours while tests are completed to ensure no water contamination as a result of the line break.
Those residents and businesses in the area are asked to bring all water to a boil for one minute, and then let it cool before using it. In particular, this is for water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing and food preparation. Officials also suggest the use of bottled water.
