Health Department offering

women's health clinic

NEW CUMBERLAND - The Hancock County Health Department will hold its bi-monthly women's health and wellness clinic form 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the health department located at 100 N. Court St., directly behind the county courthouse.

Nurse practitioner Kolleen Dayton will be available. The following screening services will be offered: pap tests, pelvic and breast exams, limited sexually transmitted disease testing and family planning consulting. Parental consent is not required.

Harmony Brothers to perform

PARIS - The Harmony Brothers will be the featured performers for the "Music on the Deck," from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at The Gathering Place Coffee Shop at the Paris Presbyterian Church located at 127 Steubenville Pike.

Jim Kell, Jim Brandolino and Lou Ralich will perform gospel music and oldies. There will be free refreshments.

Those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move indoors into the coffee shop.

Class of 1955 holding reunion

WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1955 is accepting reservations for the 58th class through Sunday.

The reunion will be held Aug. 24 at the Weirton Knights of Columbus. Pictures will be taken at 5 p.m., and dinner will begin at 6 p.m.

Cheerleading try-outs set

WEIRTON - Weir Middle School cheering try-outs will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the school gymnasium.

Those trying out must have a physical. The form is available to the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission website at Those trying out must have at least at 2.0 grade point average.

Shiloh holding Bible school

WEIRTON - The Shiloh Apostolic Faith Assembly will hold a vacation Bible school with the theme "The Joy of the Lord" from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wylie Terrace playground off Cove Road and 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church located on Weir Avenue.

The Bible school will include Bible stories, crafts, games and snacks. All are invited.
