set to meet Wednesday
WEIRTON - The Weirton Area Port Authority will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 2971 West St., in the second floor meeting room.

Friends cancel Monday meeting
COLLIERS - Country Friends have canceled the Monday meeting at the Memorial Hall on Old Police Lodge Road because of the Labor Day holiday.
The regular schedule will resume after the holiday. While the Monday meeting will not be held, the Friday and Saturday ones will.
The doors open at 4 p.m. on Friday, the covered-dish meal begins at 5 p.m., and open mic starts at 6 p.m.
On Saturday, Stone Street Station will entertain from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Weirton Heights reunion set
FLORENCE, Pa. - Former Weirton Heights School pupils will hold a reunion at noon Saturday at Hanover Township Park located at 11 Municipal Drive, off Steubenville Pike. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and any photos of Weirton Heights or its students they may have.
Knights rescheduled meeting
WEIRTON - The Weirton Knights of Columbus has rescheduled the third degree meeting for 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3, because of the Labor Day holiday.
Church holding fall fest
WEIRTON - The Marland Heights Community Church will hold the annual fall fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21 in the church ballfield located at 3900 Bright Way.
The event will include food and drink, games, face-painting and puppets. There also will be a vendor area, including Avon, Tastefully Simple, 31, Dove Chocolates, Origami Owl, Silpada Designs, homemade jewelry and jeweled cellphone cases. Vendors are still being accepted. The church is holding a contest to name the ballfields, and those interested may search "Marland Heights Community Church" on Facebook, like the page and write the proposed name on the church's Facebook wall. The winner will be announced at the fall fest. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors. The event is free to the public.
