The Stumptown Steam Threshers Club officially was formed more than 40 years ago, but the event has been held for close to 50 years. The club was formed as an organization dedicated to preserve, restore and display antique farm and power equipment.

Each year the event features live steam equipment to power such equipment. Demonstrations include lumber being cut from logs, grains being separates from the stalks of straws which is then bailed by a hand-fed and hand-tied bailer. Shingles are cut, and fresh cornmeal is ground.

Many displays give festival-goers a glimpse of farm life before the turn of the 20th century. A church service is held on Sunday morning.

A large flea market and food also are part of the event.

Admission is $3 for adults with children under age 12 accompanied by an adult admitted for free.
