WEIRTON - Boil orders placed in two sections of the city of Weirton following work on water lines have been lifted.
According to information released by city officials Tuesday, the boil orders in the Owings Addition area of the city and the 3700 block of Orchard Street are no longer in effect.
The Weirton Area Water Board had instituted a water outage last week in Owings Addition, including all streets west of North 12th Street and north of Pennsylvania Avenue including all of North 10th Street; Fairview, Elk, Weirview, Thurman, Titus, Mahan and all side streets including Steel Boulevard, Wares Drive and Summit Circle in Harris Hills. The outage was to allow the replacement of isolation valves along North 12th Street.
The Orchard Street boil order was put in place following work on Saturday to replace a broken valve in that area of the city.
