VASICH, William P. "Bill," 71, of Rayland, OH, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the Veterans Hospital on University Drive in Oakland, PA.
He was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Mingo Junction, OH, a son of the late Stanley and Anna Marie (Visyak) Vasich.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Hyser) Vasich; and a sister, Katherine "Karen" Chuich.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Air Force; he retired from the Machine Shop at Weirton Steel Corp.; and was a member of St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Mingo Junction.
Surviving are three brothers, George E. (Elia) Vasich of Wintersville, Ohio, John S. Vasich of Mingo Junction and Harry (Joan) Vasich of Mingo Junction; two sisters, Martha Trombetta of Mingo Junction and Mary Ann (Guy) Mason of Mingo Junction; a step-son, Bob (Phyllis) Hull of Wheeling, WV; three step- grandchildren, Ashley Hull, Robert Hull and Ruth (Rick) Hogue; five step-great-grandchildren, Ann, Robert and Aleah Hull, Donna and Rickey Hogue; and three step-great-great-grandchildren, Nate Hogue, Chelsea Brittan and Anthony Bigham.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11 a.m., with V. Rev. John Kopcha, officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Andrew Orthodox Cemetery in Mingo Junction with Military Honors by the Brilliant American Legion Post 573.
