Stevens presents 'Sleepy Hollow'
WEIRTON - Stevens Puppets will present "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" at 1 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Mary H. Weir Public Library's downstairs activity room.
Puppeteer Greg Genna will perform a silly, unfrightening version of the Washington Irving classic. Lanky schoolmaster Ichabod Crane sings, dances and falls in love with Katrina Van Tassel. Her father, Baltus, and village goof Brom Bones attempt to run Ichabod off with stories of the Headless Horseman. The story was adapted by Martin Stevens and Daniel Raynor and is appropriate for all ages. Stevens Puppets have been performing with traditional wooden marionettes for 80 years. The event is free and open to the public.
