Barnhouse print to benefit cancer fight

October 3, 2013
Weirton Daily Times
Dave Barnhouse, noted rural and Indian life artist, left, presented his print, “Tis the Season” to Jim Ramsey of Richmond for a silent auction to be held from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fort Steuben Mall. The silent auction is held in honor of Ramsey’s wife, Lois, who died Sept. 21, 2012, from ovarian cancer. Proceeds will be turned over to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Pittsburgh, according to organizers. The family wanted to provide knowledge about the cancer and to commemorate the life of Lois Ramsey, who was active in 4-H leadership and volunteered for the Jefferson County Fair. The drawing will take place 30 minutes before the mall closes. Along with the Barnhouse print, there is an autographed Archie Griffin jersey from Ohio State University; baskets from Macy’s and Legal Hair; Wal-Mart, Kroger, Eat ‘n Park, Texas Road House and The Ville gift cards; Pirates and Indians tickets; Cleveland Browns items; gifts from Spring Hills and Carroll Meadows among other items. -- Contributed
