MELET, Teresa L. , 93, of Fredericksburg, VA and a long-time Steubenville resident, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 12th, surrounded by her children.
Mrs. Melet was born in Steubenville, where she lived until three years ago, when she moved to Fredericksburg, VA, to be closer to her children.
Mrs. Melet is survived by her children, Henry P. Melet, of Fredericksburg, VA, Sharon (John) Walsh of Fredericksburg, VA, and Terri (Daniel) Lash of Lusby, MD. Mrs. Melet is also survived by her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her sister, Antonette Lascaro, niece, Betty (Don) Masters of Steubenville, nephews, Frank (Dale) Diorio of Cleveland, Louis (Janet) Faccinto of Torrington, Connecticut, and Robert (Anna Marie) Faccinto of Las Vegas.
On her husband's side she is survived by a brother-in-law, Joseph (Evelyn) Melet, and two sisters-in-law, Gina Pubal and Lana Kalis, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mrs. Melet was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Melet, her parents, Marco and Agnes Ipollitti Lascaro, brothers, Frank and John Lascaro, and sisters, Matilda Faccinto and Millie Diorio.
Mrs. Melet was previously a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and St. Pius X Catholic Church, St. Francis Society and Steubenville Catholic Women's Club. She was also previously employed by The Hub Department Store, Denmarks Department Store and Downtown Bakery
The family will receive friends at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. on Thursday, October 17th, 2-4 and 6-8 p,m .
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday at 11 a.m, Msgr. Gerald Calovini, celebrant.
Interment will follow immediately at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville. There will be a vigil service 6 p.m. Thursday.
