Members of the Ohio Valley Business and Professional Women's Club are putting their "best foot" forward again as they prepare for their second-annual Wine and Shoe Extravaganza fundraiser that will be held Thursday at the Steubenville Country Club.
The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and will include a "sip and shop" atmosphere as guests can enjoy a wine tasting and shop local vendors.
A shoe and fashion accessories show will be staged by Macy's.
Getting ready for Thursday’s Wine and Shoe Extravaganza are BPW leaders, seated, from left, Julie Daley and Shannon Minch-Hughes and standing, Amelia Taggart and Sara Provenzano.
"In addition to our vendors, appetizers and wine, we also have Quality Health Massotherapy giving foot massages for donations going to the BPW Scholarship Fund, which is what the event is all about - raising money for our scholarship fund which supports women going back to school," explained BPW member Amelia Taggart.
"Since so many women have taken on a new role in the family dynamic, this is a way we support our mission and give back to the women in our area," she said.
The fundraiser also invites women attending "to wear their most fabulous shoes and win a prize."
Tickets are $25 per person. For tickets or information, contact Shannon Minch-Hughes, BPW vice president, by phone at (740) 283-2531 or by e-mail at shughes@cuf-org or Sara Provenzano, treasurer, at (330) 285-2684.
The Ohio Valley BPW meets the third Tuesday of every month from September through May. Other officers are Julie Daley, president, and Mary Lou Jones, secretary.
