Carmike will hold food drive,
ticket drawing until Nov. 15
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Carmike Cinema 6 is collecting nonperishable foods in observance of the Thanksgiving season release of "Free Birds."
The Urban Mission's Bountiful Thom mascot will appear at the theater from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Food donations can be dropped off after 12:30 p.m. daily until Nov. 15. Needed items include cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, boxed potatoes, sweet potatoes, chicken broth, cake mix, icing and canned vegetables. Those making a donation will be entered into a drawing for two free movie passes and "Free Birds" promotional items.

Country Friends Band makes debut
WEIRTON - The Country Friends Band will debut Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road.
The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance begins at 7 p.m.
The band is comprised of musicians from existing bands regularly hosted by the Country Friends Foundation. It will perform once monthly.
Country Friends host covered-dish meals and open mic nights every Monday and Friday. The doors open at 4 p.m, the meal begins at 5 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m.

Student association plans fundraiser
WHEELING - The Ohio Valley African-American Students Association will hold a Bob Evans community fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 2 at the restaurant located at 775 National Road.

Auction to benefit cancer center
BLOOMINGDALE, Ohio - The Jefferson County Vocational School will hold a quarter auction to benefit the Tony Teramana Cancer Center Dietary Cancer Initiative Nov. 2 at the vocational school.
Doors open at 2 p.m., and the auction begins at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5. Vendors include Pampered Chef, MiMi Blankets, Pink Zebra, Scentsy, Thirty-One, Mary Kay and Velata. Vendors are still being accepted. The event will include snacks, drinks, door prizes, Chinese drawings and a 50/50 drawing. Proceeds go toward providing meals for cancer patients and their families.

Class of 1964 planning reunion
WINTERSVILLE, Ohio - The Steubenville Catholic Central Class of 1964 will hold a 50th reunion-planning meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 at Lancelot's Restaurant.
Members will discuss details on the planned golf outing, mixer and dinner. The reunion will be held June 13-14 at the Steubenville Country Club.
