Expo offers an afternoon of leisure for the ladies

October 27, 2013
Weirton Daily Times

What you're seeing on this page today are some shots from the second-annual "What a Woman Wants ... Head to Toe Expo" hosted by The Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times last Sunday at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.

The three-hour event gave area gals an afternoon out, a chance to kick back, have some food, sip a glass of wine, browse area vendors on hand and catch style shows featuring fashions from Macy's in the Fort Steuben Mall and Anna-Kay's Unique Fashions in downtown Steubenville.

Lots of smart looking outfits could be spotted on the runway, and I loved both Calvin Klein dresses I had the chance to wear as one of four Macy's models. I was joined by fellow employees Cindy Steineman, Diana Brown and Pat Scheel to show off not just outfits from Macy's but our Elizabeth Arden makeup done courtesy of James Smith, Elizabeth Arden beauty adviser at Macy's. He had the arduous task of making four women makeup happy after we arrived naked faced as ordered.

Showing off some beautiful styles as well from Anna-Kay's were local models Jan Bell, Vanessa Palmer, Lisa Zaucha, Kim Stover, Margaret Frederick, Mary Blair, Zana Pawlin, Judy Weaver and a gal named Lexi who was a last-minute recruit. Sorry I wasn't able to get her last name, but check out her picture at the bottom right of the page.

There were a number of vendors offering a variety of items - jewelry, home decor, hair accessories, scarves, purses, make-up, nail accessories and chocolates - and Beth McVay of Beth McVay Interior Design gave some insight on home decor trends. Ralph Parissi of Parissi Productions kept the music going with vocal selections by Joel Smith.

Of course there was good food from Todd Piergallini and door prizes awarded with the grand prize being a trip for four to Seven Springs.

Vendors included Organo Gold Gourmet Coffee and Tea with Denise Yocum; Origami Owl with Valerie Lough; Macy's Fashions and Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics; Anna-Kay's Unique Fashions; Steubenville Chiropractic; Uniquely Designed and Anthony Thomas Candies; Trinity Women's Health and Images; Trinity Advanced Surgical with Dr. Denise Gilman; Vontrie's Couture Salon and Apothecary; A Nail's Charm; Gold Canyon Home Fragrance; Beth McVay Interior Design; Stella and Dot Jewelry; Quality Health Massotherapy; It Works!; Weirton Medical Breast Care Center; All About Women; Tupperware/Amanda McLaughlin; Miche Purses/Kathy Smogor with Andrea Zalesny; Pampered Chef with Elizabeth De Jong; Mary Kay Cosmetics; McDonnell Chiropractic; Thirty One with Tammy Scott; Silhouette Scarfs; Forever Young Aesthetics with Dr. Patrick Macedonia; and Ohio Valley Optimal Healthcare with Dr. Matt Nardone.
