Weirton Elks Lodge 1801 set

to hold cabbage roll dinner

WEIRTON - The Weirton Elks Lodge 1801 Charity Committee will sponsor a cabbage roll dinner from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the lodge located on Main Street.

The meal includes homemade cabbage rolls, potatoes and dessert. The cost is $8 per person. Carry-out will be available for an additional cost.

Those planning to attend should make a reservation by calling (304) 748-0565 to guarantee a dinner.

Club to hold turkey shoot

COLLIERS - The Colliers Sportsmen's Club will hold a turkey shoot at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the club located on Putney Lane.

Those participating may use 12-, 16- or 20-gauge guns. The public is welcome to attend.

Vigil for those affected by suicide

WELLSBURG - A Candlelight Vigil of Healing, for those affected by suicide, will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Wellsburg Town Square.

Participants are asked to bring a candle and encouraged to bring a picture of their loved ones.

The event is organized by Judith Aracich, whose son died by suicide 11 years ago. She arranged for local clergy, suicide survivors and others to speak.

Those attending are welcome to share a prayer, poem, story or song. For information, contact Aracich at (614) 582-7964. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in America and third leading cause of death among Americans, ages 10-24.
