Dia de los Muertos

Madonna High School Spanish I and II and art students studied the history, festivities and connection to Christianity of Christi Dia De Los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. The Mexican holiday is celebrated in conjunction with the Catholic Church’s All Saints Day and All Souls Day. The students honored deceased members of the Madonna family, including Don Donnell, Walter Weiloh, Brad Nicka, Joe Krivak, Rich Santilli, Tom Shelton, Sister Anna Cletus, Sister Agnes Michael, Judy Butcher and Theresa DeCaria, as well as loved ones and friends by preparing art work and praying for the deceased Nov 1. The students also celebrated life with a fiesta.
