Dale Miller

MILLER, Dale Junior, 89, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at home, with his family by his side.

He was born on February 5, 1924, in Arvilla, WV, a son of the late Ernest and Irene Mae (McCoy) Miller.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Austin, Robert and Thomas Miller; and two sisters, Alice Mason and Helen Brewer.

Dale was a Navy Veteran of World War II.

He retired from National Steel Corporation where he worked as millwright.

Dale is a member of the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church, the Wellsburg Masonic Lodge 2 AF&AM, and the Parkersburg Osiris Shrine. Dale was an avid hunter and woodworker. He enjoyed going to McDonald's and having coffee with all of his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty (Dixon) Miller whom he married on October 18, 1953; three children, James (Melissa) Miller of Follansbee, WV, Sherri Turick of Willamston, SC, and Steve (Pam) Miller of Leo Minster, Mass.; five grandchildren, Troy Miller, Michael Turick, Matthew Turick, Zach Miller and Kasey Miller; four great-grandchildren, Hailey Miller, T.J. Miller, Troy Miller, and Kyler Turick; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 10, from 5-8 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 11 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church in Wellsburg, WV, with Pastor Bryce Greico, officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
