The Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene, 835 Washington Pike, held its eighth-annual Military Appreciation Sunday on Nov. 10 with the colors presented by the Tri-State Young Marines under the guidance of Gabriel Arlia. Mayor Sue Simonetti and Brooke County Commissioners Tim Ennis and Norma Tarr were in attendance for the event where military personnel from every branch of the armed forces were presented a gift.
A moment of silence was observed after the reading of the honor roll of deceased personnel, followed by the playing of taps. Lt. Col. Jeffrey L. Spangler, Army chaplain, was the guest speaker.
The Rev. Dennis K. Yingling is pastor of the Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene.
