Our local Eat 'n Park restaurants are once again reaching out to help ensure a brighter holiday season for children who are instead spending their Christmas receiving medical treatment.
The annual Caring for Kids campaign is in full swing, with a variety of events taking place at all Eat 'n Park restaurants across the region.
The Weirton store has always been a big contributor to this campaign, which raises money each year for Children's Hospitals, including the one in Pittsburgh. Already they have held a Western-themed change "roundup" event, and will have a variety of prize drawings in the coming weeks, including one for the chance at winning a new car.
Among its biggest successes in recent years, though, is its annual Tips for Tots event, during which time all tips collected are contributed to the campaign. This year's Tips for Tots is taking place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and we encourage our area residents to take some time and visit the restaurant on Three Springs Drive to see what it's all about.
Special guest servers will be on board, and there will be live entertainment and other surprises in store throughout the day. It's always a great event with an amazing turnout of support from our communities.
We ask everyone to consider showing that support once again on Wednesday, even if it is just to get a cup of coffee or a sandwich, or perhaps even just to stop by and make a donation.
Every little bit helps. We ask you to remember that, especially this time of year.
