BISH, William Paul "Bill", 79, of Weirton, died Friday, November 29, 2013, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born November 9, 1934, in Weirton, a son of the late Guy Clifford and Mary Agnes (Murphy) Bish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James F. Bish; sisters, Helen J. Merico and Evelyn K. Vandruff; nephew, Michael Merico; and niece, Eileen Fazi.
Bill retired in 1981 as a buyer in the Purchasing Department of Weirton Steel Division of National Steel and later from The Prudential Life Insurance Company as an insurance sales agent.
He was a former member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Weirton, WV, Weirton Steel 25- Year Club, Weirton Steel Bowling League, Order of the Moose Lodge 688 and the Knights of Columbus where he proudly served as grand knight from 1973 to 1974. He also was a US Army Reservist.
His interest in horse racing and handicapping spanned over fifty years, beginning at Waterford Park. A lifelong interest in hunting and an appreciation of the landscape of the Mountain State were most thoroughly enjoyed at the family cabin referred to as Piney.
He is survived by a son, Thomas E. Bish and his wife Betsy of Alexandria, VA; three daughters, Barbara A. Bish of Metairie, LA, Linda M. Bish of Steubenville, OH, Emily J. Wagner of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Carl Bish, Lawrence Bish, John Bish and Bernard Bish, sisters, Betty Paboucek and Mary Jane Bish, all of Weirton, and sister, Ruth Rihel of Boulder City, NV; granddaughters Aidan Bish and Morgan Bish; grandsons, Jason Bish and Luke Taylor; ex-wife Margaret (Squires) Bish; many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews.
Bill chose to donate his body for medical education through The Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University.
Arrangements were handled by Beinhauer Family Funeral Home, Pittsburgh, PA.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
