Winterguard assists with drive for coats

BURGETTSTOWN - The Burgettstown Kids Center, in conjunction with the Burgettstown High School Winterguard, will host a craft and vendor show, coat drive fundraiser and cookie walk from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the kids center located on Main Street.

Winterguard members will hold a cookie walk, with several different kinds of cookies available. Those attending can choose a selection of cookies and have them boxed. The proceeds benefit the winterguard.

The vendor and crafter sale will include Tastefully Simple, Avon, Pink Zebra, 31 and wreaths. For vendor information, contact Jen Bertha at (724) 249-4178 or e-mail allamericandancer@yahoo.com.

The kids center will provide concessions and serve a rigatoni dinner. Eat-in and take-out will be available.

The winterguard and kids center also will hold a coat drive, distributing coats, gloves and hats during the event. Those in need of a coat may come to the event. Organizers are soliciting gently used and new coats, gloves and hats from area residents. To donate an item, call Bertha at (724) 249-4178 or allamericandancer@yahoo.com.

The event also will include door prizes and a Chinese auction. All those attending the event will receive a gift at the door.

Light-up night will be held that evening at the Main Street Park.
