TRAUBERT, Chester F., 94, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away December 4, 2013, at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.
He was born June 22, 1919, the son of the late George B. and Grace Densmore Traubert.
Chester was the former owner of the IGA Grocery Store and retired from the Wellsburg Post Office. He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg American Legion Post 34, and the Wellsburg VFW and also served many, many years on the Brooke County Military Honor Guard Squadron. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps serving as the Quatermaster in North Africa, France and Italy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Roger in 2011; and three sisters, Katherine Traubert, Sister Mary Regis, and Grace Traubert Alexander.
Surviving is his loving wife of 67 years, Christine Pausic Traubert; his son, Douglas J. Traubert of Wellsburg, WV; two brothers, Dr. Paul Trabert and his wife, Rose of Glen View, IL and Donald J. Traubert and his wife, Virginia of Bozemon, MT; daughter-in-law, Beth Traubert of Falmouth, MA and grandson, Samuel Traubert of Boston, MA.
The will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited at attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Daniel Pisano as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Brooke Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV with full military grave side rites by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donors choice.
