Greater Weirton Senior Center

to hold New Year's Eve dance

WEIRTON - The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold a New Year's Eve dance Dec. 31.

The doors open at 7 p.m., and Sands of Time will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The event will include a midnight buffet, favors and a New Year's toast.

Tickets are on sale at the center and available at the door. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held Jan. 2.

Venom holding tryouts

The Ohio Valley Venom travel baseball team will hold tryouts, beginning Jan. 4.

Library plans events

WEIRTON - The Mary H. Weir Public Library has announced upcoming events.

They include:

Activity night, 6 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Jan. 9.

Movie night, last Thursday of each month. Activities include art projects, speakers and activities.

Preschool story hour for 3- and 4-year-olds at 6 p.m. Mondays or 10 a.m. Tuesdays, beginning March 3 and ending May 6. Story hour includes a story, movement activity and craft.

Comic Relief set for Jan. 11

WEIRTON - Pittsburgh comedians Mike Wysocki and Tom Musial will appear at Comic Relief Jan. 11 at the Serbian American Cultural Center located at 1000 Colliers Way.

The doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m.

The event will include 1970s and 1980s music before the show and after the show until 11 p.m. Those attending may dress in 1970s and 1980s clothing; prizes will be awarded for the best outfits. There will be a cash bar, and food will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $40 and include light appetizers.

Center hosting trip to Atlantic City

WEIRTON - The Greater Weirton Senior Center will host an Atlantic City trip.

The trip includes a motorcoach transportation, lodging and four meals. The cost is $235.
